Drum marking, packing and container loading for cable export

How cable is packed and marked decides whether it arrives ready to string — or with rejected lengths and a paperwork chase. Packing to the utility’s specification is part of the supply, not an afterthought.

Drums and marking

Wooden, steel or steel-wood drums are selected for the length and weight, and marked with the customer or utility specification — cable type, length, drum number and handling arrows — so site teams can identify and string without opening every drum.

Sealing and protection

Both drum ends are sealed and battens protect the cable through handling and transhipment. For sea freight the drums are braced inside the container so they survive two transhipments without shifting.
