Bare Conductors
Bare overhead conductors carry bulk power between substations and along distribution feeders. The choice of family is a trade-off between conductivity, tensile strength, weight and corrosion behaviour — and it is decided by the line design, not by a catalogue.
Where an existing line must carry more current without new towers, high-temperature low-sag families — ACSS, TACSR, TAAAC, STACIR and GAP constructions — let the conductor run hotter while keeping sag inside the original clearance envelope.
Every family below can be manufactured to more than one standard, and the same nominal area appears under different code names depending on which table the project is specified against. Send us the standard and the size and we will confirm the construction.
LV & MV Aerial Cables
Aerial bundled cable twists insulated cores around a bare or insulated messenger, so an overhead distribution line can run compact, touch-safe and far less prone to faults from vegetation or accidental contact than open-wire construction.
ABC is the default for new low-voltage reticulation in most export markets, and increasingly for medium-voltage covered line wire where a route passes through trees or built-up areas.
We supply to IEC 60502-1, AS/NZS 3560 and NF C 33-209, with drum marking and core identification to the utility’s own specification.
LV & MV Power Cables
Insulated power cable carries the underground half of a distribution network — substation exits, feeders, service connections and the internal reticulation of industrial sites.
XLPE insulation is the modern default: it runs at a higher continuous conductor temperature than PVC, which means more current in the same cross-section. Armouring — steel wire for multicore, aluminium or steel tape for single-core — is specified where the cable is direct-buried or exposed to mechanical risk.
Constructions are available from low voltage up to 36 kV, single and multicore, copper or aluminium conductor.
Building Wire
Building wire is the final-circuit layer of an electrical installation — the cable that runs in conduit and tray from the distribution board to the outlet, the luminaire and the machine.
The construction depends entirely on which code the building is wired to. North American projects specify THHN/THWN-2 and XHHW-2 to UL; projects on the British or IEC system specify to BS 6004 or IEC 60227. Both are supplied from the same plant.
Colour coding, print legend and packaging are set to the contractor’s requirement — tell us the code and the colour scheme at enquiry.
Concentric Cables
Concentric cables carry the neutral or earthing conductor as a layer of wires stranded concentrically over the insulated phase core, giving a compact, mechanically protected construction for secondary distribution and consumer service connections.
Common constructions include single-core and split-concentric service cables to national and utility specifications, with copper or aluminium conductors and PVC or XLPE insulation.
Solar Cables
Solar cable sits outdoors for the design life of the plant, carrying DC at elevated temperature under continuous ultraviolet exposure. Ordinary building wire does not survive that duty.
The electron-beam cross-linked constructions used here are rated for 25 years of outdoor service, remain flexible at low temperature, and are halogen-free and flame-retardant.
We supply to the European H1Z2Z2-K / EN 50618 family and to the North American UL 4703 PV wire family.
OPGW & ADSS
Utilities put fibre on their own transmission routes to carry protection signalling, SCADA and, increasingly, commercial telecom traffic.
OPGW replaces the conventional earth wire with a cable that combines the shielding and earth-fault duty with an optical core — the right choice on new lines and rebuilds, where working at the top of the structure is part of the build anyway. ADSS carries no metal at all, so it can be strung below live conductors on an existing line without a shutdown.
Both are quoted against your span, structure and short-circuit data, with matched suspension and tension hardware.
Instrumentation Cables
Control and instrumentation cable carries signal rather than power — the tripping, indication, metering and 4-20 mA loops that let a substation or process plant be operated and protected.
Because the signals are small, screening matters: individual screens keep pairs from talking to each other, and an overall screen keeps the outside world out. Armouring is added where the route is buried or exposed.
BS 5308 is the usual reference on EPC substation work; IEC and EN 50288 constructions are supplied where the project is specified to those.
Offshore & Marine Cables
Offshore and marine cables are built for the harsh conditions of platforms, vessels and subsea installations — resistant to seawater, mud, oil and mechanical abuse, with flame-retardant, low-smoke and fire-resistant properties for safety-critical circuits.
Constructions follow IEC, IEEE 1580 and marine classification-society requirements for power, control and instrumentation service offshore.
Special Cables
Some duties are not covered by a standard catalogue construction: a trailing cable that is dragged across rock every shift, a concentric service cable that has to satisfy a specific utility’s metering practice, or a build to a customer’s own drawing.
Rubber-sheathed flexible cable takes abrasion, oil and repeated flexing that would destroy a PVC or XLPE sheath. Concentric constructions put the neutral or earth as a layer around the phase cores, which some networks require for service connections.
If the construction you need is not listed, send the drawing or the duty description — a large share of what we make is built to a specification rather than picked from a page.

What buyers ask before placing an order
All products can be manufactured in accordance with internationally recognised standards including IEC, ASTM, BS, DIN, NFC and AS/NZS, as well as other national or customer-specific specifications. We also provide customised cable designs to meet project requirements, local utility standards and tender specifications.
Yes. The same nominal area carries different code names in different standards — SKATING to RUGBY under AS/NZS 3607, MOLE to ZEBRA under BS EN 50182, TURKEY to DRAKE under ASTM B232. Send the code or the stranding and we return the matching construction, mass, breaking load and DC resistance.
Every production stage — from raw material inspection to final testing — is conducted under a comprehensive quality management system. Advanced testing equipment and strict inspection procedures are applied to verify electrical performance, mechanical strength and long-term service life.
Yes — flexible OEM and customised manufacturing is part of our standard offer, including customer-specified stranding, drum lengths, marking and packing.
Datasheets, drawings and type/routine test documentation accompany each shipment, and our engineering team supports the tender stage with technical clarifications.
