Bare Conductors

Bare overhead conductors carry bulk power between substations and along distribution feeders. The choice of family is a trade-off between conductivity, tensile strength, weight and corrosion behaviour — and it is decided by the line design, not by a catalogue.

Where an existing line must carry more current without new towers, high-temperature low-sag families — ACSS, TACSR, TAAAC, STACIR and GAP constructions — let the conductor run hotter while keeping sag inside the original clearance envelope.

Every family below can be manufactured to more than one standard, and the same nominal area appears under different code names depending on which table the project is specified against. Send us the standard and the size and we will confirm the construction.
